We kicked off the Christmas & Holiday season on Saturday after Thanksgiving Day in style once again with the 14th Annual Ocean Isle Beach Flotilla. The boat parade started at 5:30 in front of Inlet View Bar and Grill and proceeded down the Intracoastal Waterway to the commercial canal in front of Sharky’s Restaurant where the judging took place. The boats were all decked out for Christmas! Again this year, proceeds and donations from the Flotilla benefited the Brunswick Family Assistance Program.
The crowds filled the parade route from the Inlet View and all along the waterway and ending up with throngs of people lining the commercial waterway in front of OIFC & Sharky’s. By 4:00 PM it was difficult to find a parking spot at the View and folks were nearly 10 deep at the waterway to watch the boats line up and make their way down the waterway towards Sharky’s.
The town itself was in the Christmas spirit as you can see by the photos just below. The lights & decorations that spread all across the Ocean Isle Fish Center were simply remarkable! The view from the top of the bridge could not help but put you in the Holiday spirit!
There is a slide show of some of our photos of the boats in the flotilla. We hope you enjoy them and we hope your favorite won! And speaking of the winners….here they are! As we all know though….all the boats were winners!
