When talking about shrimp, fish & seafood, one of the first places that come to mind is Calabash. From commercial shrimpers to private charters, there is always fishing going on in Calabash. The boats dock along the Calabash River running east to west and flowing out into the ICW and the Atlantic creating a photographer’s paradise with sunrises coming up over the eastern end of the harbor and sunsets to the west.
As one would expect, with the number of boats in the harbor, there would be a plethora of markets and restaurants nearby and that fact certainly holds true. There are markets & ‘stands’ where you can purchase fish & ship from right off the boats or if you’d prefer to just sit down and eat, River Rd in Calabash has perhaps the highest density of restaurants on the planet! If you’re here vacationing, you’d be hard-pressed to visit all of them in your time here, but it’d be worth a try!
Here are some photos I took this week along the docks as the sun began to set on another beautiful Carolina Shore day. Just a reminder…you can send ANY photos on our website as a *FREE* E-Card. Simply click on the ECard link in the full sized photo.
