Shallotte River Shadows

Autumn, the marsh and the ‘golden hour’ are a photographer’s dream! One of the spots that I enjoy more than most is on the Shallotte River by the Inlet View Bar & Grille. It is a lovely area, unknown to many, between Ocean Isle & Shallotte. The Inlet View is reason enough to visit as it’s locally owned & locally sourced. Add to that a spectacular view from up on the 3rd-floor deck and you’ve got a little slice of heaven.

Inlet View

If you’re not familiar with the area, the View sits at the confluence of the Shallotte River, the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean that sits just across the west end of Holden Beach and the east end of Ocean Isle Beach. With the waterway flowing east to west, the photography potential is superb for both sunrises and sunsets.

If you’re not familiar with the area but would like to learn more, please click here for some valuable information from the Cape Fear, NC Visitors Guide.

I have included a number of photos that will illustrate the effects of the late afternoon shadows that fall across the waterway and the marsh. Click on any one of the photos to view full-size. From there you can send them to anyone as a **Free** E-Card by clicking on the link. A number of purchase options that are fulfilled through our partner, Bay Photo,  are there as well.
