Anticipation and Expectation

Two words I’ve come to dislike over the last few weeks/months! The last few months have been crazy to say the least! We’ve been gathering, shopping, and storing in our garage all of Matt & Tracy’s belongings in anticipation of bringing everything down to them to move into their new place in Oak Island after [...]

Our Date with Hanna

Our current vacation down at the condo was not so much a planned vacation…but merely a result of finding a great airfare deal! ($65 RT for the both of us on SpiritAir!). The available days for that fare were limited but we were able to work it into our schedule to take advantage of such [...]

Cherry Grove – Beaches, Boating, Fishing and so much more!

One of the best aspects of owning our condo in Little River/Longs is its proximity to the Cherry Grove area and all it has to offer to both vacationers and residents alike. Being just 5 miles from the beach certainly also has its advantages as well. It’s enjoyable to be able to come back [...]

Please…..Keep YOUR beach clean!

OK…this one just always gets me! By and large I’d say that most beach goers respect mother nature’s sandy playground, but why does even one person insist on treating it as their personal waste basket. Having lived all my life at least reasonably close to the shore…having my dad teach me how to dig for [...]

New Nature Preserve Opens in Cherry Grove!

Amidst the all concrete, the high rise hotels and the commercialism that Myrtle Beach has to offer, a little slice of peace, tranquility and nature has taken shape in what is the only parcel of land in Cherry Grove that has not fallen victim to the developer's bulldozers! Located just adjacent to the public boat ramp at 53rd St is the entrance to Heritage Shores Nature Preserve. It took a couple years to bring this project to fruition, but it was well worth the wait. Our hats off and our thanks to Marilyn Hatley, Mayor of the City of North Myrtle Beach who was instrumental in many phases of this project. It is a wonderful testament to those who believe in setting aside a beautiful parcel of land like this for the public use and enjoyment.
